The Beatles Yellow Submarine spoof by Spike Milligan titled Purple Aeroplane he did many, many mad things, this being one of them. He was the nations favourite jester through the 50s, 60s and 70s Spike Milligan (1918 2002) called himself a clown. He was the master of the surreal and his humour was anarchic, spontaneous and often unexpected. But his life was frequented by deep depression. He made his reputation in the 1950s in The Goon Show on radio. He originated the idea, wrote much of the zany fantasy in the programme, and played many of the parts. He was a comedian, poet and made many nutty songs. He influenced many comedians I haven't typed the lyrics ... THEY'RE TOO COMPLICATED !!!
