Broken Promises Ch. 43 I stayed with Kevin for 15 minutes until someone appeared in the doorway and called his name. "Kevin." Me and him look up at Kiana. She looked paniced."Oh god, you're ok" She raced over to him and kissed him. He smiled. "I'm fine." He said. I let go of hs hand and stood up. Devon still sleeping in my arms. "Hi, Kiana. Is Taylor here?" I asked sadly, hoping she hadn't heard the news yet. It would rip her to peices. I felt soo bad. "No, she didn't come with me. Why?" I sighed I really didn't want to tell her. "Kiana, Joe died in the crash." Kevin choked out. I could see the tears threatening to spill over in his eyes. Kiana put her hand over her mouth and started crying. "Oh my God. Taylor doesn't know?" She looked at me. I looked down. "No." I whispered and shifted Devon. Kiana held her arms out. "I can hold him for you, if you like?" I handed Devon to her and she sat down. "Thanks. I'm going to check to see if Nick's out of surgery yet." Kevin nodded and I left to find a desk somewhere. There was one down the hall. "I was wondering if there is any news on Nicholas Jonas?" I asked. She typed in his name and looked up at me. "Yea, he just got out of surgery. Are you his finacee?" She asked. "Yes." "I thought so. He's on the next floor in room C2369." "Thank you." I ran to the elevator and hit the number 5 on the pad.When the elevator doors opened, I looked for the sign to tell me which way to go. I found the sign and followed it to the left and I eventually found Nick's room. I looked in the room and found him sleeping, or in a coma...I really hope he's sleeping. The doctor, who was looking over Nick and the tubes that were connected to his body, looked up when I was in the doorway. "I'm going to guess you're Nicole?" He asked smiling. I was shocked that he knew my name. He waved his hand to come in. I walked in. "How'd you know my name?" I asked as I sat down in a chair next to Nick's bed. "He wouldn't stop saying your name when he got here. 'Where is she? Where is Nicole?' is all he would say. Wouldn't answer any questions unless they were about you." The doctor chuckled. "Oh I'm sorry I'm doctor Tim Rayburn." He held out his hand and I reached out to shake it."Is he sleeping or..." I asked "Yes. The medication we gave him for the surgery hasen't worn off yet. He should be waking up in about 10 to 20 minutes." "What did he need surgery for?" I was afraid to know if it was worse than I thought it looked. "When the car hit the car he was in, it bent the car door in such a angle to where it snapped in half. It entered into Nick's side, breaking two ribs and penetrating his lung. He had slight head trauma as well. And a deep gash under his hairline." The doctor explained. "Oh." It was deffinately worse than I thought it was. I looked at Nick. He was sleeping peacfully. "Do you know what happened to Joe? I have to tell his finacee." And God knows ow much I really dont want to do that. "He bled out before the paramedics arrived on the scene. Nick was with him." I ran my fingers throught Nick's hair, gently. "I leave you two be." Dr. Rayburn said and left. I placed my hand on the side of his face, careful not to dislodge the bandage that covered his forehead and the side of his face. He had small scratches all across his face and neck. He had a large bandage on his left arm from a large cut, most likely caused from shrap metal flying everywhere. I lifted my hand from his face and placed it in his hand. I rubbed my thumb back and forth on the back of his hand. My phone started vibrating. "Hello?" "I'm going home, I need to get some rest." Kiana's tired voice yawned threw the speaker. "Okay, I'll come get Devon." I was about to get up to go get him. "No, no, no. I'll just take him back to my place. He can stay there for the night." "Oh, thanks." "No problem. I just need you're car keys to get the carseat." "We'll just trade keys and you can take my car. I'm on the floor above you in room C2369." "Ok. I'm on my way up. *********************************************** ehhhhhh not my best ending but you ppl will live. I've decided to ended this in 2 more episodes so the finale is coming! I hope you guys are excited for my new story!!!:)
